Kelly Girup
Kelly leads sales operations at Summerfield Trading, overseeing grower and client relationships while driving the sourcing of premium specimen plant material for high-end landscape projects. With more than 25 years of experiences in the green industry, she brings a strategic perspective grounded in deep technical knowledge of nursery production, wholesale and retail sales, and industry standards.
Holding a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture from Iowa State University, Kelly has built a career spanning nearly every segment of the industry, including horticultural consulting, container and field-grown operations, and ownership of a boutique design-build firm. This breadth of experience enables her to align plant selection with design intent, project timelines, and long-term performance, delivering consistent value to clients and partners.
Kelly is recognized for her ability to connect growers, designers, and contractors through informed decision-making and trusted relationships. Her leadership is rooted in a lifelong commitment to horticulture and a clear understanding of how quality plant material elevates the finished landscape.
Beyond her professional role, Kelly enjoys traveling with her family and spending time outdoors. She is the proud mother of three daughters and a poodle named Gary and is committed to strengthening the green industry through ongoing professional leadership and community involvement.
